Let's get right to the winners for this Saturday, 10/31/09, HALLOWEEN!! These picks are so good it's scary. I've got 10 games that I like alot and they were whittled down to 4, see below;

Take UCLA +10 at Oregon State. Oregon St. is coming off a heartbreaking 6 point loss to USC last week, but it wasn't really that close. USC has a 42-23 lead late and used a prevent defense to allow Oregon St. to get close, but not win. UCLA is 4-1 SU and 5-1 ATS the last six vs Oregon St. Prediction Oregon ST. 30, UCLA 27.

Take Northwestern +17.5 at home vs Penn St. Penn St. will get caught looking ahead to next week's showdown with Ohio St. NW is 3-1 ATS the last 4 at home to Penn St. This sets up nicely for a motivated NW squad. Prediction Penn St. 34, NW 31.

Take Minnesota +3.5 at home vs. Michigan St. Michigan State is coming off a heartbreaking loss at home to Iowa last week. Minnesota is 6-2 ATS the last 8 vs Michigan State and 5-2 SU. Prediction Minnesota 20, Michigan State 17.

Take New Mexico +17 at SD St. NM is 7-1 ATS the last 8 overall and 6-1 ATS the last 7 at SD St. Prediction SD St. 35, NM 28.

1-1-1 on the NFL on Sundays is unacceptable, we had a bad beat (tie) on Miami +7, so we should have been 2-1 (like Saturday). Two minutes to go and the WR catches the ball and throws it out of bounds for a penalty, they were down six at the time with time running out.

Anyway, on to MNF. Everybody loves Philadelphia, that's a given. They have given the play calling of a bad team (Washington) to Sherman Edwards who has only been on the team for two weeks after being out of football for four years. Prediction - Phil 27, Wash 10.

I'm happy with a 2-1 ATS mark yesterday in college (3-0) would have been better, but it's above .500 and misterfootballfanatic.blogspot.com is over 70% for the year so far.

On to today's NFL selections, this Sunday 10/25/09.

Take Miami +7 at home vs. New Orleans. Bill Parcells and Miami have had two weeks to get ready for this one, and they need it to get back to .500 on the year. Miami will control the clock with the Wildcat, just like they did against the Colts, who barely beat them at the end of the game. New Orleans could get caught looking ahead to next week's match-up with Division rival Atlanta, plus they are coming off an emotional big game vs the New York Giants. Look for a bit of a letdown here in and non-divisional game. Plus, New Orleans has won and covered every game this year, that trend is due to end. Prediction Miami 27, New Orleans 24.

Take the Under 46 in the Pitt/Minn game. The Under is 6-1 the last 7 times these two teams met. You factor in the defenses (Polamalu from Pitt is back) and I see this as a 20-14 type game. Take the Under in this one.

Take the New York Giants -7 at home vs the Cardinals. Arizona is 2-16 SU the last 18 at New York and they can't run. The Giants got embarrassed last week by New Orleans, and they're pissed. Arizona went 2-11 in cold weather on the road the last 13 as well. Take the Giants -7. Prediction NYG 30, Arizona 17.

For you Fantasy Football buffs, please see the listing below of some sleeper Fantasy Football players for week 7 in the NFL.

Maroney - RB/NE. NE is playing TB in London and when Sammy Morris went down last week on his first play, Maroney took over. Tampa's defense in not good now that Lane Kiffin took hid dad to Tennessee in college.

Benson - RB/CIN. Benson won't say it, but he wants to play great at home vs his former team, 'DA BEARS. Tommy Harris, a Pro Bowl DT, is out for today's game for Chicago.

Austin - WR/DALL. Miles Austin is now the #2 WR in Dallas (#1 Roy Williams is still banged up and Crayton was demoted to the slot). Dallas is playing at KC and should put up some numbers.

Stover - K/INDY. Vinatieri went down week 5 and is out for the foreseeable future. Pick up Stover and start him in the dome at STL.

D. Anderson - QB/CLE. With six teams on a bye and some injuries, if your desperate for a starter, use Anderson at home vs. GB. He's rated 21st the week, but that better than Jamarcus Russell.

Let's get right to it on this Saturday, 10/24/09. misterfootballfanatic is at 70% for the year so far ATS. I had a dozen games I liked this week, the following three, I love!

Michigan +4.5 at home vs Penn St. Michigan has won 9 of the last 10 meetings between these two teams outright and they are getting points at home. Michigan is 7-3 ATS the last 10 vs Penn St. Take a look at Penn State's schedule. They have played nobody, except for Iowa at home and they lost to them. Penn State is overrated and Michigan is underrated. Jump all over Michigan +4.5 at home. Prediction Michigan 24, P St. 20

Boston College +8 at Notre Dame. BC is 5-0 the last five times these two have played and 4-1 the last five at Notre Dame. ND is coming off an emotional, heartbreaking loss to USC, they will not be up for BC. Take BC +8 to probably win the game, but at least cover. Prediction BC 31, ND 27.

Tennessee +15.5 at Alabama. Tennessee is 5-1-1 ATS the last 7 at Alabama. Alabama will get caught looking ahead to next week's showdown with SEC rival LSU. Alabama probably wins the game, but it's close. Prediction Alabama 27, Tennessee 20.

We'll take a 3-1 ATS day any day, like we went yesterday in the NFL. On to this week's MNF play of the week.

Take Denver +3. The undefeated Broncos visit San Diego and SD has had two weeks to get ready for this one since they had a bye last week. Denver is 5-0 and has covered the spread all five times. Look for the 2-2 Chargers with Norv Turner always starting slow to blow it.
Can you believe Denver may win on the road and be 6-0, making the Chargers 2-3?

Prediction Den 27, SD 20.

Sunday, October 18, 2009

Okay, so we went 2-2 yesterday, it should have been 3-1 as the ref's turned a field goal attempt into a touchdown on a replay overturn (erroneously) in the Penn St/Minnesota game.

On to today's selections for the NFL:

Take Baltimore +2.5 at Minnesota. Baltimore is 8-4 ATS the last 12 as a dog. They are 5-1-1 ATS vs Minnesota and 5-1 ATS on turf. The Ravens are coming off of two losses and they're pissed. Minnesota is not going undefeated and their schedule so far has been pretty soft. Prediction,Baltimore 24, Minnesota 20.

Take Chi/Atl under 46. The last six times these two teams played each other, all six went under the total. Hard to ignore a trend like that, especially when they have decent defenses. Prediction, Atl 20, Chi 17.

Take the Giants +3 at New Orleans. The G men are 8-2-1 ATS in October the last two years and 6-1 ATS vs the NFC South. New Orleans is 2-6 ATS off a bye (0-3 with current coach Sean Payton). Prediction, NYG 27, NO 24.

Bonus selection, take Carolina -3 at Tampa Bay. Carolina is showing some life with a win last week and the Bucs have not won yet. The Panthers have not covered a spread yet this year, they are due to cover. Also, the Panthers are 5-1 SU the last six at Tampa Bay.

FANTASY FOOTBALL SLEEPER PLAYS:

Start David Garrard- QB/Jacksonville. The Jags are home against the Rams and their 25th rated pass defense. The last two times the Jaguars were at home this year, Garrard passed for over 600 total yards and 5 td's.

Start Sammy Morris - RB/NE. Maroney sucks and after Fred Taylor's ankle injury and subsequent surgery, Morris will be New England's main ball carrier for the rest of the year. He is available as a Free Agent in many leagues, pick him up and start him if bye weeks or injuries have depleted your RB's.

Start Donnie Avery - WR/STL. The Jaguars defense against the pass is 26th in the league. With Bulger back, Avery is about the only passing option and should post decent numbers. Avery scored last week in garbage time.

BENCH CALVIN JOHNSON - WR/DET! He's just been listed as inactive for today's game. It's tough to bench Megatron, but he's not playing today.

Hello there football lovers, time to make some money. The homework's completed, the winners are out there, we've just got to play the games. See the picks below:

College play of the Week - Virginia Tech -3.5 @ GT. VT is 9-1 ATS in it's last 10 conference road games. The road team in this series has won the last three outright. VT is 4-1 SU in the series and 24-10 ATS in revenge games (they lost to GT last year at home). All things point to a VT win today. Prediction VT 31, GT 17.

Georgia -8.5 at Vandy. Georgia is 5-0 SU the last 5 at Vandy and 5-2 ATS the last 7 at Vandy. Plus, Georgia is pissed off that they lost at Tennesse last week and dropped in the polls. Look for Georgia to take it out on Vandy. Prediction Georgia 38, Vandy 20.

NW +14.5 at Mich St. NW is 4-1 ATS the last five vs Mich St and 4-1 ATS the last five at Mich St. Mich St. has won and covered some big games lately, look for a letdown as this is a sandwich game for them with undefeated Iowa coming to town next week. Prediction Mich St. 37, NW 31.

Bonus selection - take Minnesota +18 at Penn St. Minnesota is 4-2 SU in the last six vs P St. and 6-2 ATS the last 9 vs. P St. Prediction P St. 38, Min 27.

Welcome to misterfootballfanatic. Free winners and fantasy sleepers and studs for the NFL is our specialty. On to the picks.

Take Atlanta +2.5. The Falcons are coming off a bye so they have had two weeks to get ready for this "MUST WIN" game. Their opponent is the 49ers, are without Frank Gore and have covered the spread in all four games this year, that streak stops today as Atlanta wins outright. Go with the Falcons and take the points.

Take Tennessee +4 (you may be able to get more than that by kickoff) at home against Indy. The Titans are 5-1 ATS the last six vs the Colts who may be caught looking ahead to their bye next week. The Titans are desperate, this win could save their season. The Colts are vulnerable against the run, but rarely give up passing TD's. Look for the Titans to run a lot and keep the ball out of Manning's hands. Go with the Titans +4.

For you Fantasy Football players out there, here's a couple sleeper players for this week.

Sammy Morris - RB/NE. With Fred Taylor having surgery on his ankle and Maroney dinged up, look for Morris to get more playing time and the goal line carries.

Sims-Walker - WR/JAX - He is in the top five in catches, yards and td's and under most people's radar. They are playing at Seattle, not exactly a dynamic defense there.

Well, you can't do anything about a BAD BEAT! We liked the STL Cardinals last night with Wainwright pitching and he had only given up 3 hits and one run in 8 innings. In comes relievers and Miller and Franklin get the first two outs. Then a line drive right at Matt Holliday (who committed only one error since joining the Cards in the summer, dropped out number 27. Had he caught the ball (and he should have), game over, Cards win. As it is, it started a rally and the Dodgers pulled out the win with two unearned runs in the 9th for the win, OUCH!

A Friday pick for a Saturday game, we like Louisville +2. They are 5-1 ATS the last six at home against S. Miss. Take the points, Louisville should win outright.

Thanks for reading and good luck.

Just because our name is misterfootballfanatic, does not mean we only prognosticate football. Since time is short, take the Cardinals over the Dodgers in game 2 with Wainright for the Cards evening the series. They are underdogs and Wainright won more games (19) than any other NL pitcher.

Good luck!

Hi there! I hope you had a prosperous weekend, we here at misterfootballfanatic.blogspot.com sure did! We went a documented 4-0 ATS on Saturday, 10/3/09, finishing it off with Auburn's nationally televised/upset win at Tennessee. We went 1-1 on Sunday in the NFL, so we're 5-1 ATS this weekend! Gotta love it.

On to tonight, Brett Favre and the Minnesota Vikings (that still seems difficult to say) at home against the Green Bay Packers (+5) on Monday Night Football. I predict that this will be the top rated regular season game ever on TV, for sure on ESPN. It will be top five all time in regular season NFL games viewed.

On to the pick. Everyone loves Favre and the whole Minnesota story (as I do) and the money is showing that as the line is moving up. Call me old school, but I'll take GB +5 and consider parlaying that with the Over, but GB + the points is the play and here's why.

GB is 5-1 Straight up (SU) and Against the Spread (ATS) in the last six games vs Minnesota. Add to that the GB is 7-1-1 ATS the last nine times they played at Minnesota and you have a trend.

Look, I like Minnesota and their chances to get to the NFC Championship or beyond but they are not going undefeated and GB with Rodgers have something to prove (although so does Favre and the Vikings, don't you just love it?).

Can't wait to watch the game, I hope it lives up to the hype! Take GB +5 for your MNF play of the week.

For the Fantasy Football Fanatics out there, like me, here are some solid plays and some sleeper plays for week 4 in the NFL which has our first four teams not playing with a bye.

Pick and up start the following sleeper fantasy players:

Glenn Coffee - RB/SF. Frank Gore is out and San Francisco is at home playing the Rams weak defense. Coffee should get 100 yards and a touchdown and is available in many Fantasy Leagues.

D. Anderson - QB/CLE. Quinn's been benched and I don't see him getting the job back. In 2007, Anderson threw for 29 touchdowns and made the Pro Bowl. I think Cincinnati is a bit overrated and with Jamal Lewis and James Davis (the best two rushers on Cleveland) out for this game, Anderson's going to have to throw, early and often.

Tashard Choice - RB/Dallas. Felix Jones is out and Barber's banged up. Expect Choice to get the majority of the carries at Denver this week.

Studs:

P. Manning at home vs. Seattle in a dome
Peterson - RB/MIN at home vs GB
Wayne at home vs Seattle in a dome

Good luck!
misterfootballfanatic.blogspot.com
Anyone paying attention? misterfootballfanatic went a documented 4-0 yesterday against the spread with four underdogs in college football, all WINNING their games outright!

For today's NFL selections, there are some unusual match-ups, and some tough match-ups.

Take the Giants -9.5 at Kansas City. KC has shown nothing on offense and their #1 receiver has done nothing this year, Dwayne Bowe, and may not play. The Giants are 6-0 ATS the last six vs KC. The Giants defense is extremely tough, so KC will not score much. Prediction, NYG 27 - KC 10.

Take Tennessee -3 at Jacksonville. It's rare for a winless team, the Titans, to be a road favorite which shows how bad the Jags are. They have been blacked out on all home games this year so road team's fans can easily get tickets. There is talk of moving the Jags to Orlando for some home games and eventually to Los Angeles. Take a desperate Tennessee team to knock off the Jags for their first win. Prediction - Tennessee 24 - Jacksonville 13.
That's it for today's selections, I've already got the winner for Monday Night Football. Check out my blog tomorrow when I post that one, Favre vs GB at Minnesota. It will be the most watched regular season game in years, maybe ever!

Good luck!

Hi there football lovers! Welcome to misterfootballfanatic.blogspot.com. It's time to win. Trends have been studied, match-ups analyzed, injury reports taken into consideration and who's playing well, or not.

Here we go for Saturday's best colleges selections:

Take Virginia +14 at North Carolina. Virginia is 10-1 Against the Spread (ATS) the last eleven times these two have knocked heads. In addition, North Carolina is just 1-4 ATS at home vs. Virginia. Prediction - NC 31 - Virginia 27.

Take Maryland +14 at home vs Clemson. Maryland is 7-2 the last 9 vs Clemson with a bye week coming up, then Wake Forest at home. Look for Clemson to overlook Maryland heading into a week off of practice, etc. Prediction Clemson 24 - Maryland 21.

Take Michigan State +2 at home vs Michigan. This is Michigan's first road game of the year and Michigan State is coming off a 3 pt loss at Notre Dame and a tough loss at Wisconsin. Michigan is coming off four home games with one semi-quality win, the ND win. Look for an angry Michigan State team in a big rivalry to come up big in this one, my play of the week. Prediction Michigan State 30 - Michigan 17.

Auburn +3 at Tennessee. Auburn is undefeated and ranked third in the country, and we're getting points? Auburn is 6-0 ATS on the road after an ATS win of 13 or more. Lane Kiffin still has to prove he is worthy of being a head coach in NCAA. Prediction Auburn 20 - Tennessee 17.

Stick with misterfootballfanatic's system all year and you'll end up on top.

Good luck!
