Take Clemson -4.5 vs. S. Florida in the Meineke Car Bowl. Clemson is playing in North Carolina, their home state. South Florida will be without starting QB, B.J. Daniels, starting Freshman QB, Bobby Eveld. Both teams have good defenses and this may be one of the lowest scoring bowl games. Prediction Clemson 20, S. Florida 13.

DOUBLE DOWN PLAY - Take Central Florida (10-3) +7 vs. Georgia (6-6) in the Liberty Bowl in Memphis. The senior laden Central Florida team won 8 of it's last 9 to win the Conference USA title and are fired up to avenge their Liberty Bowl loss in 2007 to Texas A&M (which was a much better team than this Georgia team). I'm predicting an upset, but Central Florida at least covers. Prediction Central Florida 30, Georgia 27.

UNBELIEVABLE! Tennessee had that game won, it said "Final Score", Tennessee 20, North Carolina 17. Officials reviewed the last play and even though NC had too many players on the field, they put one second back on the clock, moved them back five yards for the too many men on the field penalty, then kick the field goal to tie and send it to overtime with no time on the clock.

It never would have came down to that, but Tennessee's kicker missed an extra point earlier, or it would have taken a touchdown to tie. Anyway, Syracuse came through, and Tennessee didn't, 1-1 ATS on the day, season 65-40-5, darn it! Should have been 2-0 and 66-39-5, but I digress.

Okay, another 1-1 ATS day on 12/29/10 making the season record 64-39-5. I've only missed on two Bowl games so far that were posted.....I love the Bowl Season, recently going on a 14-0 ATS run. On to today's games this Thursday, 12/30/10.

Take Syracuse (7-5) at pick 'em vs. Kansas St. (7-5) in the inauguraul Pinstripe Bowl. Syracuse is playing very close to home in Yankee Stadium and this game features the 4th place Big East team vs. the 7th place Big 12 team. K. St. has the better offense on paper, but playing close to home in Yankee Stadium bodes well for Syracuse. Prediction Syracuse 27, K St. 24.

Take Tennessee (6-6) +1.5 vs. NC in the Music City Bowl. Again, the Vols played better down the stretch and are playing right next to their campus. On the other side, North Carolina overcame multiple suspensions for several games and had a decent record, only to fall on their face down the stretch, they are not happy about going to Nashville, they would have rather went to a Florida or Arizona bowl.
Prediction Tennessee 24, NC 23.

Well, NC St. took care of business as a 3 point dog, knocking off favored West Virgina in the Champs Sport Bowl, 23-7. Then Missouri -2.5, is up by four points and driving. Then their bought QB threw a pick six right to Iowa's DB, giving Iowa the lead, and the ballgame, ouch! Anyway, after a 1-1 ATS 12/28//10, season record is 63-38-5. Not too shabby. On to today's predictions this Wednesday, 12/29/10.

Take Baylor (7-5) at pick 'em vs. Illinois (6-6) in the Texas Bowl. First of all, the game is being played less than 200 miles from Baylor's campus (Houston, Texas - where the NFL Texans play) and Illinois only sold 6,000 of the 12,000 tickets they were alloted, unbelievable. Illinois finished by losing at Fresno State, who already lost to Northern Illinois, a much smaller school than Illinois. The Illini lost 3 of their last 4, beating Northwestern in Illinois' next to last game to become bowl eligible and it was the first week after NW's starting QB Persa - who had accounted for over 60% of Northwestern's offense. Basically, I'm going with Baylor who has home field, a better QB and won against more tough opponents in the Big 12 than Illinois did in the Big Ten. Prediction Baylor 38, Illinois 31.

Take Oklahoma St (10-2) -4 vs Arizona (7-5) in the Alamo Bowl in San Antonio, Texas. Oklahoma State leads the nation in total offense and is coming off a stinging defeat in their last game to give them their second loss of the season. They also have an edge on special teams over Arizona. The Wildcats lost 3 of their last 5 in the Pac Ten and seemed to have lost their edge. Prediction Ok St 34, Arizona 24.

Then, they lose leading rusher, Adam Robinson, for the bowl game due to another drug violation. Just don't see how Iowa can hang with Missouri. Iowa lost their last two games (one to 1 win Minnesota). Prediction Missouri 27, Iowa 20.

Take NC St +3 vs. W. Virginia. W. Va's coach has been fired and NC St's coach is 8-2 in bowl games with NC St. finishing second in the ACC. Watch the QB for NC St., best #'s in the ACC. Both defenses are good. Prediction NC St. 24, W. Va 20.

Panthers. Secondly, Toledo is only an hour's drive to Detroit, so Toledo will have the majority of the fans behind them. It should be close. Prediction Toledo 34, Fl. Int 31.

Take Miami -3.5 at home vs. Detroit. Miami has won the last five SU against Detroit and they are 4-1 ATS in those five games. The Lions won their first road game in three years last week against Tampa, I just can't see them winning two in a row on the road. Plus, Miami is embarrassed that they have only won once at home this season, they want to give the fans something to be cheered for......a win. Prediction Miami 24, Detroit 17.

Take the Jets +3 at Chicago. The Jets are playing for their playoff lives, while the Bears clinched the NFC North last week on MNF against Joe Webb and the depleted Vikings. The Jets are 7-1 ATS in their last 8 games vs. the NFC North as well. Sanchez' arm is good enough to go, and I see the Jets defense really slowing the Bears down. One other thing, the last seven times these teams have played, all 7 went UNDER the total. Take the fired up Jets to win outright vs. a letdown by the Bears after clinching the division last week. Prediction NYJ 20, Bears 13.

Well football lovers, I'm back! (But I never really left). I've been red hot, winning twice yesterday with Pittsburgh -14.5 and San Diego St. -3. Tonight I've got Tulsa plus 16 on two parlays with the Boise -3 mistake. I didn't want to post anything that the parlays needed, thinking at least one would be wrong.

I GUESS NOT! Tulsa was getting about 11 from Hawaii and I needed them on my parlays, at +16! Anyway, I hit 3 three teamers for twenty and a five teamer for ten, you can do the math, I'm practically giddy......

These really helped me get over getting knocked out of my Fantasy Leagues, one game short of our Super Bowl in the league I run, made the playoffs in the other one and am near the top of a Salary Cap league.

Anyway, I felt so good about all of the games I mentioned when I turned in the parlays over a week ago, I didn't think they would all hit, so thinking I was due to be wrong, I haven't been posting my picks, they just kept on winning.

If Tulsa holds on (they are getting 16 and up 48-28 right now), I will have picked 12 straight winners going back to last Sunday, unbelievable!

S. Mississippi blew a 21-7 lead, getting anywhere from 2.5-3.5 points, only to lose by three. Then line went to 3.5 by kickoff, so I got lucky, hope you at least got the three for a push..........but it never should have came down to that. Right after S. Miss goes up 28-21, they allow the Cardinals to return the kickoff for a touchdown to tie it up again in the fourth quarter, ouch.

Boise State plays Utah tonight and is favored by 17 points or so. That's alot for a bowl game, especially with Utah's 10n straight bowl wins. As I mentioned in a previous blog, I've got Boise on a few parlays at -3, they better win. Not sure if I'm going to post anything on this game.

Wow, now they say Favre is starting. I just checked the latest line and it's Chicago - 6.5 OVER/UNDER 34 in a blizzard. The line opened at Minnesota -2 early in the week, before the Joe Webb is our QB information came out. Now, Adrian Peterson is inactive for the game (sorry any Fantasy Football people who drafted him in the first round), Favre is starting and the Bears are favored by a touchdown?

I'm just going to sit back, watch the game and have fun. If I was to make a play on this game, it would have to be Minnesota with Favre playing in Minnesota +6.5, maybe 7 by kick-off. You would think this game would go UNDER the 34 too.........but you never know.

GOTTA LOVE THE NFL! AFTER A 3-0 "OFFICIAL PICKS" SUNDAY, PLUS ANOTHER 3-0 ON PLAYS THAT I LIKED, HIT BIG, HOPE YOU DID! I've got several of those six plays that won parlayed with Boise St - 3 against Utah (the line was real low on the parlay, not sure why). Everything was clicking exactly as I thought yesterday. I also liked Atlanta to beat up on Seattle, Det +7 at TB and Indy -7 as home vs the Jags, which all happened. 9-0 ATS on the nine games I was looking at, wish I would have played a 10 team parlay.

Everything points to the Bears, with no beer being sold at the college stadium MIN/CHI is being played at, freezing cold and the Bears will have as many (if not more) fans there. Minnesota is out of the playoff hunt and starting Joe Webb (didn't he play on Dragnet?). I'm going to study this before making a post for MNF. I may not post anything and just collect. If Boise -3 covers, I will hit it HUGE.

After a 1-1 ATS Saturday (I did post that I liked BYU more than Ohio). Season record is now 56-34-5, not too shabby. I feel real good about today's games, actually, I like too many and I don't want to publish 6-8 plays. Therefore, I am going to post some "Official" plays, then at the bottom of this post, I will list others I liked that didn't make the cut (but they may win too).

DOUBLE DOWN PLAY - Take KC +3 at STL. Look, Cassell is going to start and they are 5-1 ATS the last six games vs. the Rams. I love Bradford, but as Brodie Croyle proved last week, KC is a different team when Cassell is in there. This line opened at KC -1. Everyone is taking the Rams, probably thinking Cassell would not play, well, he's playing. KC is fighting to hang on to first place in the AFC West. Prediction KC 30, STL 20.

Take Buffalo +6 at Miami. Miami has only won once this year at home and Buffalo lost earlier this year at home to this Divisional rival. The Bills play their hearts out every week and Miami is basically out of the playoffs, nothing to play for. Prediction Buffalo 23, Miami 17.

Take Washington +10 at Dallas. Big rivalry, too many points. I know, the Redskins benched McNabb and Grossman sucks, but Kitna is not Romo either. Washington should not be getting this many points, they moved the line from 6.5 to 10 after McNabb got benched. Prediction Dallas 27, Washington 24.

I've had all year to watch teams and I have a pretty good idea on who's good, who's shaky, who's overrated, who's motivated, etc. Let's start with two Bowl selections this Saturday, 12/18/10.

Take BYU -11 vs the UTEP Miners in today's New Mexico Bowl. First of all, BYU fans travel well. UTEP lost their starting senior QB, Trevor Vittatoe, in October (he may play, but be rusty). They lost five of their last six games and headed the wrong way. On the other hand, the BYU Cougars finished strong, winning 5 of their last 7 games, after head coach Bronco Mendenhall took over calling the defensive signals. UTEP has neither the pass rush or the run defense to stop BYU. (I like this one a little more than the next one). Prediction BYI 41. UTEP 24.

Take Ohio +2 (and climbing) vs. Troy in the New Orleans Bowl. Everyone is all over Troy for some reason (Ohio opened as a 1 point favorite). Troy has one of it's worst defenses in years and their offense is not quite as good as the last two years. Ohio lost to Kent and snapped a seven game winning streak. Troy has lost the last two times they played in the New Orleans Bowl. These are evenly matched teams, but I'll go against everyone else and take Ohio in an upset. Prediction Ohio 31, Troy 27.

Take Baltimore -3 at Houston. Houston is toast, with a 5-7 record and they are terrible in Prime time. The Ravens are 2-0 SU and ATS the last two at Houston, and they are playing for their playoff lives. And Houston defense is dead last (32nd out of 32 teams) in pass defense. Flacco and company will light it up. Prediction Baltimore 30, Houston 20.

Well, it was one of those days, going 0-2-1 ATS. Everything I was considering covered and the three I went with has two losses and a push. I was right about a couple things, Brady and company went OVER in Chicago in that horrible weather, everyone was taking the UNDER. One other thing was my guess about what they had to do about the NYG/MIN game, they had to move it to Detroit and about 1/2 hour after I made that logical assumption and posted it here, it was announced. Another DOUBLE DOWN WINNER last Sunday with Oakland +13 beating San Diego to a pulp and winning outright! Last week 3-1 ATS, season 54-30-4. On to what appears to be a rather crazy NFL Sunday, 12-12-10.

First of all, the NYG/MIN game will not be played today and will not be played at the Metrodome in Minnesota!. The roof caved in and the Giants are stranded in Kansas City with no outdoor gear, their plane was diverted to KC due to bad weather. My guess is they will play on Monday at Ford field in Detroit.

In Chicago, the winds are 30-50 mph and roughly zero wind chill. There could be backward punts, very difficult to pass, tough break for Brady and the Patriots. The OVER/UNDER line has moved from 41.5 on Monday to 37.5 as of this writing, and I expect people to take the UNDER. Even though the conditions appear to represent an UNDER, beware when everyone goes one way. On to today's selections in the NFL.

Take Carolina + 8 at home to Atlanta. I know, it sounds crazy but get this, Carolina is 7-0 ATS in their last seven home games in December. It's bad weather out there too, rainy and windy. Both teams will have to run which will keep the game closer. Carolina has Jonathan Stewart back and they can run, they will be starting QB Jimmy Clausen. Atlanta appears to have a big edge, but they are a different team on the road and this game is outside to boot. Prediction Atlanta 20, Carolina 17.

Take Denver -3 at Arizona. Teams firing their coaches are 2-0 this year the following week, and I expect that trend to continue with the firing of Josh McDaniels, who was in over his head. Kyle Orton is a good QB and Arizona is going to start QB Skelton, with no running game and no defense. You think the Cards miss Kurt Warner? Prediction Denver 30, Arizona 20.

Take Phil -3 at Dallas. Philly has had 10 days to prepare for this game and they are fighting for their playoff lives. Dallas has struggled all year vs. mobile QB's, and none are more mobile than Michael Vick. Philly is also 7-1 ATS in their last 8 December road games, so coach Andy Reid knows how to motivate his team down the stretch. Plus, Dallas lost stud rookie WR Dez Bryant for the season and they are still starting aging QB Jon Kitna. Prediction Phil 34, Dallas 20.

Take Cleveland +5 at Miami. Brandon Marshall is out and Miami has not covered the spread at home all year. Plus, Cleveland is 3-0 ATS lifetime vs Miami. Prediction Cleveland 20, Miami 17.

Take TB +3 at home vs. Atlanta. TB is 5-1 ATS in their last six meeting vs. the Falcons and TB is playiing for their playoff lives. A bit of a letdown for Atlanta after last week's big win over GB, they are a different team on the road. Prediction TB 23, ATL 20.

Take Clemson +3 at home vs. S. Carolina. Clemson is 10-3 SU in their last 13 meetings vs. South Carolina and you're getting points to boot. I smell an upset vs. an overrated South Carolina team. Have you ever watched a Clemson home game? They play the chilling intro to A Space Odyssey when they take the field, it's awesome and fires up the crowd before the game starts. What a BAD BEAT with Michigan State just trying to run a play to run out the clock up by one, Northwestern was out of time-outs and it was third down. Two missed tackles later, Michigan State scores a touchdown, that actually gave NW a chance to win by going up 8 and they got the ball back. Another winning day, 1-0 ATS yesterday, 14-6-1 ATS on the year and 16-6-1 on the year when factoring in the 2-0 ATS DOUBLE DOWN releases. Oregon State +8 won SU 29-27 on Saturday. On to today's selections.

Take TB +7 at Cincinnati. Tampa Bay has won the last five times they have played the Bengals SU! Couple that with TB being 6-2 ATS the last 8 coming off a bye and Ochocinco is banged up and may not play. The Bengals lost to Cleveland last week and has a bye next week. I expect the Bengals to overlook the Bucs, looking ahead to their bye next week. Tampa will double Owens with Ochocinco and Shipley out. Also, Cedric Benson's solid back-up, Bernard Scott will probably not play, so Benson will get tired (if their offense is on the field). Take NO -7 at Arizona. M. Hall is starting at QB for Arizona. The Saints are 5-1 their last 6 at Arizona and the Cards are 3-8 ATS in their last 11 before a bye, which they have next week. Bottom line, the Saints are much better at almost every position than the Cards. Prediction, New Orleans 30, Arizona 10.

Take Indy -7 at home vs. the Chiefs. Yes, the Chiefs are 3-0, but two of the three wins were over the 1 win Cleveland Browns and the winless 49ers. They other win was opening day at home vs. the Chargers. Indy lost last week on a last second 59 yard field goal at Jax, who always gives the Colts fits. The Colts are coming home, and they are pissed, needing a win bad. I see the Colts loading the box to slow the Chiefs running game, forcing Matt Cassell to beat them. Peyton Manning is, well, Peyton Manning. Indy is 9-1 SU and 8-2 ATS vs KC since 1990. The Chiefs come back down to Earth. Prediction, Indy 31, KC 17.

McNabb and Washington will be fired up for this divisional rivalry, especially with McNabb coming back to town. McNabb knows their playbook and Shanahan can coach. Washington is also 5-2 ATS the last 7 at Philly coming in to this game. All the hype on Vick is a bit overrated since Vick has beaten Detroit and Jacksonville (big deal). Take the Jets +3 at home vs. New England. In 2009, the Patriots were a woeful 2-6 SU on the road, and one of those wins was in London, which was not a true road game. Everyone saw the Jets struggle offensively on Monday Night Football, so everyone is taking the Patriots. Sorry, I don't see it, the Jets win this one outright, getting points at home to boot. Take the Bengals +3 at home vs. Baltimore. Cincinnati is 8-3 ATS their last 11 games vs. the Ravens and are 4-1 SU and ATS at home vs. Baltimore the last five. Again, everyone saw Baltimore beat the Jets on MNF 10-9, not exactly a glowing performance. The Bengals need this one with two road games coming up. Prediction Cin 23, Bal 20.

Take Carolina -3 at home vs. TB. Carolina lost a tough one on the road at the NYG and it would have been much closer had it not been for turnovers. Alright! How 'bout those picks yesterday in NCAA football?!?! Went 2-0 and listed them both, Stanford -6 (Won 35-0) and Oregon -12 (Won 48-13) as "DOUBLE DOWN" Plays, meaning that I liked them so much that you should double your normal play. Anyone following this strategy won big yesterday, like I did.

On to the opening day in the NFL and today's selection.

Take Cleveland +3 at TB. Did you know that Cleveland won their last four games in 2009 and covered their last six ATS and their last five ATS on the road? It's true. With Holmgren in town now with 3 new QB's (all better than Brady Quinn who is now third string with Denver), the Browns should be favored in this game. They play in the ultra tough AFC North and TB is no team near that level. Tampa didn't do much to improve and QB Josh Freeman hurt his thumb in the pre-season and therefore, didn't play much. He will be a bit rusty. Prediction Cleveland 27, TB 17.

Since yesterday's plays were so good and I haven't seen any NFL games that counted yet, I'm going to only release the one play (at least so far) for this Sunday, 9/12/10, and watch the games and get a better feel for them after all of the changes that went on in the NFL since last season.

Alright football lovers, HERE WE GO!!! The games all count now and the NCAA football games have large schedules from here on out. So many games, the lines will not always reflect what will happen.

For example, did you know the the oddsmakers do not set the spreads based on what they think the line should be? They set the line based on what they think the PUBLIC thinks the line should be so money will come in on both sides of the spread.

Anyway, on to today's college games this Saturday, on the 9th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks, so sad. Can you believe it's been 9 years already? Do you remember where you were when you first saw or heard about the attacks? I know I do, but on to today's selections, a nice distraction from such a disaster in the USA's history.

I love these picks so much that I'm making them my first "DOUBLE DOWN" plays of the year. Stanford is a 6 point favorite at UCLA. UCLA finished 6-6 last year under coach Rick Neuheisel. They only have one returning starter from their defensive front seven from last year and are starting almost all Freshman and Sophomores. Their QB is Sophomore Kevin Price and he's banged up and they have no established starting RB. On the other side of the story, Stanford is loaded. Starting QB, Andrew Luck, may be a Heisman candidate by season's end, he's a stud. Coach Harbaugh with Stanford is returning 7 defensive starters and 4 returning starters on the O-Line. They should contend for the Pac 10 crown this year. On top of all of that, Stanford is 8-4 ATS in the last 12 games vs. UCLA. Prediction, Stanford 34, UCLA 17. Double your normal play on this game!

Secondly, I like Oregon -12 at Tennessee. The Vols are in trouble. This is not the same team the Peyton Manning played for or the team that won the National Championship the year after Manning graduated. Tennessee coach Dennis Dooley is a first year coach with the Vols and is their third coach in the last three years. After Lane Kiffin suddenly left, many players transferred away as well, including RB Bryce Brown, starting QB Nick Stevens, and tackle Aaron Douglas. They have an already depleted program, a new coach and basically, the Vols are starting over with Oregon coming to town as their first opponent of the year. The Ducks on the other hand, warmed up last week with a 72-0 trouncing of New Mexico. Head coach Chip Kelly returns 17 starters from last year's team. Stud RB LaMichael James was suspended for last week's blowout against New Mexico, he's also back for this one. I see Oregon taking down the Vols. Prediction Oregon 41, Tennesse 17. "DOUBLE DOWN" on your bet with this play as well. Oregon will win, it's just a matter of by how much.

Okay football lovers - HERE WE GO! (Sound familiar???). Gotta love this time of year, the seasons are changing, the leaves are falling and oh yeah, THE GAMES COUNT!

I love two NCAA games today this Saturday, 9/4/2010. Many teams in NCAA football schedule cupcakes to pad their win totals, while a few play good teams. See below for some Fantasy Football advice as well.

Take Cincinnati +2.5 at Fresno St. The Bearcats averaged 39 points per game last year and Fresno's defense is not that great. Factor in that the Bearcats are 9-1 SU in their last 10 road games and Fresno St. is 0-4-1 ATS in their last five home games, and you've got an upset in the making. I believe the Bearcats of Cincinnati wins going away. Prediction Cincinnati 42, Fresno St. 27.

Take N. Texas +28 @ Clemson. Look, everyone knows Clemson will win this game but the N. Texas Mean Green (gotta love their name) return 19 starters from last year's team. Clemson lost stud RB C.J. Spiller to the Buffalo Bills and is starting a new QB, sophomore Kyle Parker, who's future is probably in baseball. I like Clemson to win, but not cover. Prediction Clemson 38, N. Texas 20.

I Can't wait for the NFL games, coming soon. For now, here are some undervalued or sleeper selections for those of you who have not had your fantasy football drafts yet.

At QB, look for Matt Hasselbeck late with the Seahawks. They have a soft schedule and new coach Pete Carroll from USC fame will throw the ball. Take a strong look at Sam Bradford with the Rams late. He's looking good and with Feely's broken thumb, I believe Bradford will start week one, at home to the Arizona Cardinals soft defense, the Rams also have a soft schedule. Look hard at Matthew Stafford late. Detroit is improving and Calvin Johnson is a stud.

At RB, the job will be C. J. Spiller's, sooner rather than later, he's a stud. With Hardesty out for the year, Jerome Harrison's stock just rose for Cleveland. He had 4 great games down the stretch last year and now has no real competition for the job. Both of these guys will be available rather late.

At WR, Dez Bryant for Dallas is a stud and Roy Williams is a bum. Take Bryant late, his leg injury which limited him in the pre-season is almost 100% and no one has seen him play (unless you watched him destroy opponents with Oklahoma State last year). Take Malcolm Floyd late, a WR who will flourish with San Diego and Phillip Rivers throwing to him. I also think Terrell Owens will be worth drafting with a healthy Carson Palmer throwing to him. Owens has been going in the 5th or 6th round, sometimes later. He's a value pick there.

At D/ST, take a look at the Tennessee Titans late. Jeff Fisher knows what he's doing and they let Haynesworth go for a reason.

Welcome football lovers, the NFL is back! What a way to get started, the Bengals vs. the Cowboys, Terrell Owens vs. his old team in the Hall of Fame Game. Emmitt Smith of 'Da Boys going into the Hall yesterday with Jerry Rice, very fitting for the best two, EVER, at their prospective positions. Just check our all of the stats they both hold and lead in their positions.

For a Pre-Season game, I have done a lot of homework for this opener, please read the following stats and information.

Cincinnati's defensive coordinator is Mike Zimmer, who's last job was being the Cowboys defensive coordinator. So, he knows not only Dallas' players, but their schemes and how they approach pre-season football. They may not admit it, but Zimmer and T.O. will make this game personal, and meaningful.

In addition, the game is being played in Canton, Ohio - right down the road from Cincinnati. There will be some Dallas fans there (they travel well in general) but a few extra due to Emmitt's entry into the Hall of Fame. It's still a road game for Dallas though.

The Cowboys' rookie sensation Dez Bryant, a stud WR from Oklahoma State, is out 4-6 weeks as is starting DE Marcus Spears. Old man Jon Kitna will play alot after Romo's early exit. J.T. O'Sullivan will play after Carson Palmer comes out, but I get the feeling Palmer wants to win this and play with his new toy, T.O. and they also have another TV reality star, Chad Ochocino. I never thought I see the day where one, let alone two, NFL guys on the same team had reality shows, it's bizarre.

Bernard Scott is an excellent back-up for Cedric Benson, and I expect Mr. Scott to have a big day. However, Dallas is deeper at running back with the three headed monster, Felix Jones, Marion Barber and Tashard Choice, who will all play. Cincinnati is much deeper at WR however, especially with Roy Williams now being, at least temporarily, the #2 WR in Dallas.

Dallas was #2 in overall defense last year, but Cincinnati made huge strides and ended up #4. The Bengals won the tough AFC North last year without T.O. Dallas is also trying to win now and trying to become the first team to ever play in it's home stadium in the Super Bowl (it's in Dallas this year), but I digress.

On to the game. The Bengals are favored by 2 points with an over/under of 32. 1/10/10 - Playoff Double Down - Ari +3 at home vs GB. Won 51-45
1/16/10 - Playoff Double Down - INDY/BAL UNDER 40.5. Won 17-3
1/17/10 - Playoff Double Down - NYJ + 8 at SD. Won 17-14

I've had a lot of fun this year, doing my homework and giving it my all to provide free winners for my devoted readers/followers. I think I've done more homework before providing my picks for this blog than I ever did when I was just betting. I have more than tripled what I started with at the beginning of the year, it's been a fun ride.

Although I haven't went through all year and calculated exact figures yet, I'm pretty sure that I've went 75% or better on the season, I'm very happy about that. Also, I didn't have many losing days. Okay, to the game that kicks at 5:25 CST on the Super Bowl Sunday. What a match-up, the Indianapolis Colts vs. the New Orleans Saints! P. Manning vs. Drew Brees. I haven't heard anyone say it, but I'm pretty sure this is the first time two Dome Teams have met in the Super Bowl. Ironic that it's being played outdoors, in Miami.

Speaking of being in Miami, the Colts won the Super Bowl in Miami a few years ago against the Bears. This means that they are familiar with the Media days, how it all works leading up to the Big Game, etc. Either 17 or 19 players on Indy have played in a Super Bowl, 4 Saints have played in one. This is a big advantage for the Colts.

However, I predict that the crowd will be backing the underdog Saints. New Orleans is closer to Miami than Indianapolis and the crowd with no rooting interest usually pulls for the underdog. Plus, you've got the Katrina factor, the Saints have never even been to a Super Bowl before, they used to be the called the "Aints".

The last two Super Bowls, the dog covered and the winning team took the lead with exactly the same amount of time on the clock, 35 seconds! That's amazing. Last year Pitt beat Arizona but didn't cover at the favorite. The year before, the Giants as the underdog, beat the undefeated Patriots.

Anyway, even though my heart wants the Saints to win, my brain says Peyton Manning and the Colts. Another factor is the weather. I heard it's 10-15 mph with wind gusts into the 20's. This could affect both passing games. On to the predictions.

Take the UNDER 57. Per the windy weather and everyone I've seen thinks 58 or more will be scored, so I don't think that will happen. Look for New Orleans to run more than the Colts (the Saints were 6th in the NFL in rushing yards, so figure). Prediction Indy 27, Saints 24.

Take Indy on the Money line to win the game. I don't trust them to cover, the Saints are a great story and almost everyone wants them to win, so I don't trust them. They almost lost to Minnesota two weeks ago and the Vikings gave them the ball 6 TIMES! It still took overtime for the Saints to win that game, the Vikings had 200 more yards that the Saints. I look for Manning and the Colts to find a way to win. Like above, I predict Indy 27, Saints 24.

misterfootballfanatic.blogspot.com continues it's winning ways by going 0-2 ATS in the first games played last weekend, but went an astounding 2-0 ATS in both late games and they were both DOUBLE DOWN Plays! This basically means 4-2 ATS when factoring in the strength of the plays (I won both days by doubling down on the second games). On to today's first match up, the AFC Conference Championship game between Indy and the Jets.

Take the Jets +9 at Indy. When the Jets were playing the undefeated Colts in week 16, they were only down 5 points in the third quarter when the Coach Caldwell pulled the starters. The Jets went on to win 29-15 and that win propelled them into the playoffs. Be careful what you wish for Colts fans. The Jets are 8-2 ATS the last 10 games they were an underdog. The Jets have allowed an average of 9.4 points in their last 8 games. Last week's game not withstanding, the Colts defense has trouble against the run, in the bottom half of the league. Running the ball is what the Jets do. DB Revis for the Jets will make Reggie Wayne a non-factor. I expect the Jets to double Dallas Clark and use some exotic blitzes. Since Indy will not be able to run on the Jets defense, Pierre Garcon and/or Austin Collie at WR will have to be the guys Manning targets. Prediction Indy 24, Jets 16.

Also, I'm adding INDY/NYJ UNDER 40.5. The Jets defense will at least slow down the Colts offense and the Jets offense will run, alot - tick clock tick.

I'll post the MIN/NO game after I know the results of the INDY/NYJ game.

Okay, Dallas kept shooting theirselves in the foot and didn't challenge the probable Favre fumble deep in Dallas' territory when it was still only 17-3, and got killed even though yards gained by each team was about the same.

So, all three favorites this weekend have won and covered. I cannot for the life of me remember the last time all #1 and all #2 seeds met in both conference championship games, at least in the wild card years. DOUBLE DOWN ON THIS PLAY!

After seeing the OVER on the NO/ARI game happening and knowing all four playoffs games last week went OVER, I strongly recommended "Doubling Down" on the UNDER for the INDY/BAL game since and UNDER was overdue, and it worked! A 20-3 INDY win was fine with me since I doubled my play and basically went 2-1 ATS on the day. On to today's first selection, this Sunday 1/17/10.

Take Dallas +3 at Minnesota. Favre is 40 years old and his arm always wears out near the end of the season that Minnesota lost to the Bears in week 16. Favre is 0-3 SU vs Dallas in the playoffs. Plus, Favre gave Dallas bulletin board material this week by stating "WE WILL BEAT DALLAS THIS WEEK" and it got out to the media and Dallas' locker room. Expect Dallas to go after Favre hard, he won't have much time to throw. They are going to have to rely on Adrian Peterson, especially since Dallas team is on a roll, especially their defense. Romo has the big game/playoff demons off his back. Dallas may have trouble running against the stout Minnesota run defense, so I expect Dallas to come out throwing, especially with LB E.J. Henderson (out) and DB A. Winfield playing hurt, they will throw his way. Last week Romo completed passed to 8 different receivers, and they have three good running backs, Barber is healthier and will play today. Another thing to consider, both favorites won and covered yesterday, so a dog is due. By the way, Dallas is 4-2 SU in the playoffs vs the Vikings and the winner has went on to the Super Bowl all six times. Prediction Dallas 24, MIN 20.
